2017 Season
Beam played in 40 games, making 28 starts in left field... started the season opener and four of the first five games of the season, but then did not travel for the spring break trip to California... returned to the starting lineup in time for the Big Ten opener at Iowa and has made 18 of his 28 starts against Big Ten opponents... demonstrated a good eye, drawing 15 walks to boost his OBP (.347) nearly over .140 points above his average (.210)... scored the game-winning run with two outs in the walk-off victories vs. Illinois and Saint Louis... finished the regular season strong by reaching base 7 times in 11 plate appearances at Minnesota, scoring four times. Beam was a three-year varsity letterwinner for coach Ryan Bunnell at Westfield High School in suburban Indianapolis... also played three years of varsity of football... batted .300 with a .467 on-base, 56 runs and 40 stolen bases during his prep career... two-time gold glove winner in the outfield... Indiana North-South All-Star Game participant... Perfect Game high honorable mention All-American as a senior... also honorable mention all-state as well as an all-conference and all-county honoree as a senior... stole 20 bases thanks to a .583 OBP as a junior, earning underclass high honorable mention accolades from Perfect Game... helped lead WHS to a pair of conference titles in baseball... standout wide receiver was part of three sectional champions as well as a regional title & semi-state appearance in football... recorded 80 career receptions and 18.4 yards per catch to go along with eight touchdowns... four-year honor roll student.

Full name is Milo Michael Beam... born in Westfield, Indiana... parents are David and Nellie Beam... family also includes younger siblings Grace, Pat and Lyle... his father played rugby at Ball State... his uncle David Johnson and cousin Matt Pardieck are Purdue alumni... majoring in business management.
