Gubser played in 30 games, making 18 starts... made eight starts at both catcher and designated hitter as well as two at first base... connected for two-run homers at Western Carolina and Michigan State... hit safely in all three games of the WCU series after recording a pinch hit single in the season opener... had two hits in games at Western Carolina and Oklahoma... made Big Ten starts against Rutgers, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan State, Nebraska and Penn State... doubled, walked and scored in the midweek win at Indiana State... also connected for doubles against Western Carolina and Valparaiso... reached base safely 50 percent of the time (7-of-14) when leading off an inning. Gubser was a two-time first team all-conference honoree at Cañada College in Redwood City, Calif.... batted .285 with 7 home runs and 37 RBI to also earn first team all-state JUCO honors as a sophomore... hit .299 with 2 home runs and 31 RBI as a freshman... principal's list honor student during both semesters of the 2013-14 school year.

Played baseball and football at Terra Nova High School in suburban San Francisco... first team all-league performer as a junior... TNHS won league and Central Coast Section championships in 2010, his junior year.
