Participated in the Black and Gold Series in the fall but redshirted during his second year as a Boilermaker.

2014 Season
Bickle pitched in three games, making relief appearances at Tennessee, Illinois-Chicago and Indiana State... retired two of the three batters he faced in the eighth inning at UIC... pitched a season-high inning and two-thirds at Indiana State, working a scoreless sixth inning. Bickle was a four-year letter-winner for coach Zac Bireley at Columbia City High School... also played basketball as a sophomore... two-time All-Northeast Hoosier Conference honoree as an upperclassman, earning First Team acclaim as a senior and Second Team recognition as a junior... also an all-area honoree and team MVP as a senior... two-time winner of CCHS's hitting award as an upperclassman after winning the pitching award as a sophomore... earned academic all-state honors as a senior and graduated among the Top 10 in his class.

Full name is August Jordan Bickle... born in Fort Wayne, Ind.... parents are Jerry and Karen Bickle... family also includes older siblings Jared and Jessica... Jared played baseball at Anderson University and Jessica played soccer at Grace College... plans to use his baseball career to help aide in mission work... majoring in applied exercise and health.
