Grant was a four-year letter-winner for coaches Gary Remiker and Anthony Stabile at Cathedral Catholic High School in San Diego... high school teammate of fellow Boilermaker Derek Black... three-year varsity starter played shortstop as a senior and second base as a sophomore... started every game as an upperclassman, seeing action at seven different positions as a junior... team's gold glove award winner as a junior, recognizing him as its best fielder... led the team in extra-base hits in each of his upperclassman seasons... also played wide receiver on the football team... all-academic team honoree... helped lead CCHS to California Interscholastic Federation San Diego Division championships in 2011 and 2012.
