2017 Season
Played in 10 games, primarily as a pinch hitter… opted to transition to a team manager role in the fall of his sophomore year… recorded a pinch hit single in his collegiate debut in the finale of the Little Rock series… delivered an RBI pinch-hit double in the home win vs. Fort Wayne… played first base in the series opener vs. Northwestern… batted twice in the home opener, a walk-off win vs. Kent State… also saw action in the series finale at Minnesota. Bertram was a four-year varsity letterwinner for coach Jered Moore at Zionsville Community High School in suburban Indianapolis... also played three years of varsity football... first team all-conference honoree as a sophomore and senior... batted .340 with 25 RBI while committing only one error as a senior, helping Zionsville compile a 31-5 record as conference champs and state runner-up... batted .390 with 20 RBI as a sophomore, leading to preseason all-state honors the following year... earned the team's defensive back of the year award his senior year, helping ZHS win a sectional title... honor roll student compiled a 3.8 GPA... academic all-state in baseball and football as a senior... Hoosier Crossroads Conference and Kiwanis leadership council representative.
