Sander played in 32 games and started eight times... made seven starts at designated hitter and one at first base... started all three games of the Iowa series, including the middle game at first base... also made starts in Big Ten play against Illinois and Maryland... had two hits in games against Northern Illinois, Iowa and Ball State... recorded six of his seven RBI with two outs... his first hit as a Boilermaker was a pinch-hit game-tying double in the 12th inning of the walk-off win vs. Sam Houston State... also had a pinch-hit RBI single at Louisville... drove in a pair of runs in wins vs. Northern Illinois and Illinois State. Sander played his first two collegiate seasons at Vincennes University in southwest Indiana where he was a teammate of current Boilermaker Alex Lyons on VU's 2014 NJCAA Division II World Series team... first team All-Region 12 and Region 12 all-tournament team honoree as a sophomore after batting .411 with 83 hits, 56 RBI and 31 walks vs. 9 strikeouts in over 200 at-bats... batted .333 as a freshman and led Region 12 with 40 RBI and 55 hits... had three hits in VU's World Series win against No. 1-ranked Mesa Community College.

High School
He was a two-year letter-winner for coach Robin Courtney at F.J. Reitz High School in Evansville... batted .430 as an all-conference and all-metro honoree as a senior... batted .375 as a junior and helped his JV team win the city title as a sophomore... batted .440 with his American League Post 44 team in the summer of 2012, finishing his Legion days as only the second player in Post 44's 40-year history with a career average over .400... graduated with academic honors and was an academic all-conference honoree.
