Career: A first-team All-Big Ten selection at second base ... academically, was a first-team CoSida District V Academic All-American ... blossomed into the complete offensive and defensive player in 2001 ... improved his career average by 20 points ... had his best year in a Purdue uniform, finishing third with a .349 average and second on the team with 74 hits ... led the team with a .411 (37-for-90) average in conference play ... has always been known for his defensive skills, but improved to one of the team?s top offensive stars in 2001 ... did not commit an error in the first 47 games, going 191 chances before committing a throwing error on May 5 at Indiana State ... committed just four errors all year in 231 chances at second base (.983) ... switch-hitter who hits the ball to all fields ... is a very smart baserunner and is also skilled at bunting ... was voted the Big Ten?s top baserunner in the preseason by Baseball America, while also voted as the best defensive second baseman ... has played all four infield positions during his Boilermaker career ... has the ability to play second base or shortstop, although is more of a natural second baseman ... coming off a successful summer, where he was voted team MVP of the Harrisonburg Turks for his defensive play.

2001: Started in ten games at the leadoff spot, while starting the rest in the two-spot ... led the team with a 2-for-3 performance against Central Florida on Feb. 17 ... was a perfect 4-for-4 at Cincinnati, only needing a home run for the cycle, and also stole two bases in that game ... also stole two bases at IUPUI and team-high three bases at Valparaiso on April 24 ... led off the game at UCLA (March 14) with his first home run of the season ... was 3-for-4 at Michigan State in the first game of a doubleheader, including a two-out double, scoring Mike Duursma, tying the score in the bottom of the seventh and leading to a 5-4 win ... that game also marked the beginning of a team-high 19-game hitting streak, which ended on April 27 at Indiana ... added back-to-back 3-for-5 performances at Northwestern on April 7, adding two doubles, an RBI and five runs scored ... added a team-high seven assists in a 16-12 win at Cincinnati and a 7-1 win at Michigan State ... had seven outputs at UCLA on March 13 ... finished second on the team with 17 doubles while stealing a team-high 18 bases.

1998: Started five games at second base and 12 at shortstop ... hit .250 overall with eight runs scored ... hit .233 in 12 Big Ten games ... went 2-for-6 with one RBI against Louisville (2/22) ... went 5-for-13 with two doubles and three walks in four-game series against Northwestern (4/24-26) ... had sacrifice fly RBI in 11-4 win over Penn State (Game 1, 5/10).
