Belmonte was a four-year letter-winner for coach Mike Zunica at St. Rita High School on the South Side of Chicago... three-time All-Area third baseman, batting .400 or better each season... batted .410 with a sophomore record 12 home runs in 2010... came back the next season and batted .410 with nine long balls... closed his prep career with a .420 batting average his senior season... batted .465 for the summer varsity team after his freshman year... helped St. Rita win the 2009 summer state title and finish as the runner-up his sophomore and junior years... four-year honor roll student... helped his Ballhawks team win the state championship on the club level as an eighth grader.
