2014 Season
Academic All-Big Ten... Amaro played in 28 games and made eight starts, all in left field... started two games of both the LSU and San Diego State series... also made starts against Rice, Butler, Illinois-Chicago and Penn State... played in a team-high 20 games off the bench, including 13 in Big Ten play... recorded three outfield assists to help Purdue lead the Big Ten through the end of the regular season... singled twice and scored a run in game two at LSU... reached base safely in all three games of the LSU series, finishing the weekend 3-for-7... recorded an RBI with a fielder's choice and threw a runner out at second from the wall in left center in game three at San Diego State... helped throw runners out at third base for his two other outfield assists... singled and scored in the finale of the Rice series. 2013 Season
Amaro played in 29 games and started 14 times... made seven starts in right field, four in left field and three as the designated hitter... started Big Ten games against Ohio State, Nebraska, Michigan and Iowa... record his 14 RBI in only 61 at-bats, seven coming in Big Ten play... batted a team-best .417 (10-for-24) with runners in scoring position... had three hits and two RBI, including an RBI double, in the game two win at Illinois-Chicago... that was his first of five consecutive games started... delivered a three-run double during Purdue's five-run seventh inning that tied the game in the middle game of the Michigan series... delivered a two-out RBI single and scored the game-tying run in the ninth inning of the middle game of the Iowa series... recorded an RBI in three straight games in which he played during Big Ten play in April... first collegiate hit was a double in the win against Connecticut in the final game of the Big East/Big Ten Challenge... had two hits after entering the game as a pinch hitter in the eighth inning in the comeback win against Samford at Mississippi State's tournament... recorded a pair of RBI, one coming on a squeeze bunt, in the spring break trip win at Cincinnati... as the leadoff man, reached safely and scored in each of the first two innings of the finale of the Southern Illinois series to help Purdue complete the sweep.

Amaro was a four-year letter-winner for coach Robin Renner at Neuqua Valley High School in Naperville, Ill.... two-time All-Upstate Eight Conference and academic all-conference as an upperclassman... named an Illinois All-State position player by ESPN High School magazine as a senior... voted team MVP as a junior... team captain as a senior... also played football as a freshman... eight-semester honor roll student.

Full name is Jack Michael Amaro... born in Hoffman Estates, Ill.... parents are Michael and Franca Amaro... family also includes younger brother Joey... majoring in general health sciences with career ambition of becoming a surgeon.
