Dressler pitched in two games, both in relief... was limited by an injury early in the season... worked 2 1/3 innings of one-hit relief in the nightcap of the Butler doubleheader... also pitched in the nightcap of the Gonzaga doubleheader in Phoenix. 2014 Season
Dressler pitched in 14 games, making starts against Butler, IPFW, Illinois-Chicago and Ohio State... team's newcomer of the year honoree... helped lead Purdue to its season series sweep of Butler, working 10 2/3 innings of two-run ball with six strikeouts vs. no walks vs. the Bulldogs... won his first college start in the spring break midweek date at Butler after not allowing a run until the sixth inning... all five hits he allowed at Butler came with two outs and he retired 12 consecutive batters from the second through sixth innings... followed that up with three scoreless innings as the start in the home-opening win against IPFW... struck out a season-high four over five innings of one-run ball against Butler at Alexander Field... also excelled in relief at Indiana State, working four innings of one-run ball and not issuing a walk... pitched a scoreless eighth inning in game two at Rice, his collegiate debut... worked a scoreless fourth inning in the midweek win at Illinois State, leaving the bases loaded... along with his rubber game start against Ohio State, also made appearances against Michigan and Iowa in Big Ten play... escaped an inherited bases-loaded jam in the finale of the Michigan series... led the way in midweek action, working a team-high 20 2/3 innings over seven appearances and compiling a 2.18 ERA. Dressler was a four-year letter-winner for coaches Justin Cronin and Tom Dorrance at Hinsdale Central High School in suburban Chicago... three-year member of the varsity was an All-West Suburban Conference honoree as a junior... went 2-1 with 30 strikeouts, a 2.30 ERA and 1.26 WHIP as a senior... excelled as a sophomore on varsity, compiling a 4-2 record and 2.29 ERA... also played basketball as a freshman.
