Purdue Loses to Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Purdue baseball team fell to 2-3 on the nine-game Florida trip with a 7-1 loss to Jacksonville on Thursday in Jacksonville, Fla. The Boilermakers (3-7 overall) won the first two games of the road swing but have since dropped the last three in a row.

Jacksonville starter Wade Taylor cruised through Purdue's batting order, allowing one run while striking out seven in six innings. Shortstop Daryl Hallada and leftfielder Robb Ramacher had two hits apiece for the Boilermakers, who collected eight hits in the game. Ramacher drove in Hallada in the sixth for Purdue's only run of the game.

The Boilermakers continue their tour through the Sunshine State today with a 7 p.m. game against Florida in Gainesville.
