WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - George Ade will retire as Purdue athletic ticket manager Dec. 28.

Ade has served in his current position since 1987 and has worked in the ticket office since 1984. He has handled more than 10 million football tickets.

Ade worked with the Ross-Ade Stadium crew from 1976 to 1984. He performed roles in administration and supervision and was appointed assistant superintendent in 1980. Ade became ticket systems computer coordinator in 1984 and was promoted to assistant ticket manager a year later.

A 1967 Purdue graduate, Ade earned his bachelor's degree in German. He added a master's degree in German language and literature from Purdue in 1969.

Ade was honored during the Boilermakers' Old Oaken Bucket game victory over Indiana on Nov. 24 and at the athletics department annual recognition breakfast today.

Brian Forsyth has assumed the role of director of ticket operations. He is assisted by Nick O'Malley and Brittany Keller.
