WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Today is Giving Tuesday, and the John Purdue Club proudly announced last week that it will once again participate in the annual event.
Started in 2012, the philanthropic holiday is celebrated the first Tuesday following Thanksgiving and aims to bolster the work and need of nonprofits amidst the spending spree trio - Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday.
"By supporting the John Purdue Club on Giving Tuesday, you are directly helping to improve the lives of our student-athletes and the resources they utilize," senior associate athletics director Nancy Cross said. "Your gift ensures that these young leaders are equipped to be successful in both a rigorous academic environment and a competitive athletics conference."
John Purdue Club memberships start at $17 per month, and are available online or by contacting the JPC office at 765.494.3248 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Current JPC members also can make an additional year-end gift a part of Giving Tuesday, which will count towards the benefits of membership.
"To our committed John Purdue Club members, thank you for already answering the call to be all in, all year," Cross said. "Your continued generosity is helping Purdue Athletics reach the level of success every Boilermaker desires."
