WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Graduate student Drey Mingo has faced adversity in many forms in her time at Purdue.  From sitting out a transfer year, losing a second year to an ACL injury and suffering a near-fatal case of bacterial meningitis, Mingo has fought many battles.

But from her personal struggles, Mingo is seeking to foster a great triumph with the formation of her Sounds of Serenity foundation.  The non-profit organization seeks to offer assistance and support for children facing hearing loss.

It's a topic Drey is familiar with, having suffered partial hearing loss as a result of the meningitis battle.  See how Drey is trying assist others in this edition of The Odyssey.

Mingo's story is the focus of an upcoming feature on the Big Ten Network's Women's Sports Report.  The Boilermakers take on Indiana Thursday night at Mackey Arena.
