WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Boilermakers have their final meet before the Big Ten Championships on Friday at Illinois. Purdue will compete in the Illini Open with the women’s 5,000-meter run starting at 5 p.m. ET and the men’s 8,000-meter run following at 5:40.
The women will travel seven individuals while the men will take three to the meet. Kyra Ball, Kelsey Batt, Gabrielle Broschard, Anna Dolce, Reagan Lear, Taylor Mortensen and Megan Slamkowski make up the women’s travel group. The men’s squad consists of Danny Dalton, Cole Hester and Greg Tippmann. Broschard is set to make her season debut, while the other six women competed in the season-opening win at Valparaiso. Hester is making his season debut, while Dalton and Tippmann ran at Valparaiso.
On the men’s side, seven teams and 62 total athletes will compete, while eight teams and 63 athletes are entered on the women’s side. Bradley, Butler, Eastern Illinois, Illinois, Illinois State and Indiana State have men’s and women’s teams entered, while Northern Illinois is entered in the women’s race.
