WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue men's and women's cross country teams return to action this weekend on Saturday as they head to Richmond, Ind., to take part in the IU East Regional.

The Purdue men will run a younger group on Saturday. Six individuals are slated to compete including three freshmen, two true with Blake Mills and Andy Mack, and Connor Geshay. The other three competitors are redshirt juniors Simon Rogers, Steven Stoot, and Christopher Surfus.

"This weekend provides a great opportunity for some of the younger guys to get into a competitive environment," assistant coach Jake Stewart said. "We are excited about our progress. We are looking forward to the weeks ahead."

Mack finished ninth at the IPFW Invitational earlier this season with a 26:09.47 in the 8K. Classmate Mills finished just behind him in 10th after crossing the finish line in 26:11.00.
