WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue Cross Country Invitational has been cancelled, the program announced. The Boilermakers were scheduled to host the meet on Oct. 5 at the Boilermaker Cross Country Course, but extenuating circumstances have forced the cancellation.

The Purdue Invitational was to be the first home meet at the Boilermaker Cross Country Course since 2010. Last year, the program was unable to host a meet due to road construction that cut through the original course design.

The men’s and women’s teams will continue their season this weekend at the 40th Sean Earl Invite in Chicago. The Boilermaker men are currently ranked 12th in the region after their fourth place finish at the Indiana Intercollegiates. The Purdue women are up to ninth in the region after a second place finish two weeks ago. Matthew McClintock has paced the men’s side while Samantha Walkow has finished first for the women’s side in both races.
