Purdue sends 17 runners to the final race before championship season
Football led the way for fall honorees.
Purdue improved its Academic All-Big Ten total by 18 student-athletes from merely a year ago.
2014: Ran the 5k race at the Belmont Opener with a time of 20.44.8.
High School: Four year letterwinner in cross country, track, and swimming; regional qualifier in track all four years; indoor state qualifier as a junior and senior; all-sectional in cross country her final three years of high school; all-county and all-regional as a junior and senior in cross country; all-conference as a senior in cross country; won the Leadership Award in cross country and track as a senior; cross country team won the County Championship in 2009 and 2011; also Sectional and Regional Champs in 2011; swimming team was County Champs all four years and Sectional Champs in 2012; track team won county and sectionals in 2012; graduated with academic honors and was Indiana Coaches of Girls' Sports Association Academic All-State Honorable Mention; earned the Avon Sports Boosters Scholarship.
Personal: Taylor Ann Smith was born Aug. 13, 1993 to parents Troy and Cindy Smith; both parents attended Purdue University; aunt and uncle also went to Purdue; has one sister, Emily; plans to major in health sciences; enjoys reading, baking, fishing, running, and swimming.
