Purdue improved its Academic All-Big Ten total by 18 student-athletes from merely a year ago.
The Boilermakers will send 12 women and 18 men to the invitational.

2012: Competed in four meets during her fresman season; ran a career-best 5k time at the Indiana Intercollegiates where she posted a time of 19:52.1 which finished 10th in the open race; ran a time of 20:09.26 at the Hoosier Invite which was good for 21st place; began her season at the Crusader Open where she finished 32nd with a time of 20:16.5.
High School: Four-year letterwinner in cross country and track; earned First Team All-FCIAC freshman year; earned the team's Rookie Award; was injured before track season her sophomore year and did not compete; set school-record in the 2000m steeplechase as a junior with a time of 7:34 and finished fourth in the CIAC state meet; set school record in the two-mile run as a junior; part of team that broke the 4x800m school record as a junior; named captain of the cross country and track team as a senior; earned the Coach's Award in her final year; part of the team that broke her own 4x800m record as a senior and finished second in the CIAC Class 'L' meet; ran the four-mile at the New Balance Indoor Nationals in New York City and finished 29th; placed seventh at the CIAC Class 'L' in the 1600m; re-set the school-record in the 2000m steeplechase with a time of 7:29 and finished sixth at the state meet; part of distance medley relay team that set the school record as a senior; team was the 2009 FCIAC Champions and also runner-up in the CIAC that year; was a member of the National Honors Society.
