2009: Finished 18th overall in the season-opening 8K Great American Legends (9/4) with a time of 28:16.15; cut more than 1:30 off his season-best at the Indiana Intercollegiate Championships (9/18), placing 37th overall with a mark of 26:46.6; smashed his 8K season best and scored for the first time at the Greater Louisville Classic (10/3) with a mark of 25:39.62; ran the Gibson Family Invitational (10/10) 8K in 26:59.9; recorded a 69th place finish at the Big Ten Championships (11/1) 8K, crossing the line at 28:00.3.
2008: Competed in five of the Boilermakers' six varsity races, finishing in the top five twice; clocked his top 8K time of the season at the Auburn Tiger Invitational (10/4), placing fourth on the team with a time of 25:20.67; turned in his first career 10K at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships (11/15), marking 35:06.0.
High School: Four-year varsity letterwinner in track and field and cross country at Hilton Head High School; earned three consecutive cross country and track and field team MVP honors and all-academic awards; posted back-to-back third-place performances at the South Carolina State Cross Country Championships; led his team to consecutive 4x800-meter relay titles at the South Carolina State Track and Field Championships.
