80 Boilermakers earn undergraduate degree
Hoevet, McClintock receive Big Ten Medal of Honor
Matthew McClintock and Hope Schmelzle lead Purdue into Friday's races
McClintock and Schmelzle both broke school records Sunday
The Boilermakers begin their championships season Sunday
2014: Competed in five events, including Big Tens and the Great Lakes Regional Championships ... had a season-best 8k time of 25.07.0 at the Big Ten Championships finishing third for Purdue and 66th overall ... came in 12th at the Belmont Open 5k run with a time 15.29.0 where the team took first ... had an 8k time of 26.01.8 to finish 17th at the Indiana Intercollegiate ... came in third place at the Illini Open 8k race with a time of 25.32.9 ... was Purdue's fifth finisher at the Great Lakes Regional Championships 10k run with a time of 32.28.0 where the team took 13th.
2013:Placed 3rd in his only 5k of the year with a time of 15:57.98 at the Michigan Invite; Finished 42nd at the BIG Championships with a time of 25:23.0; His best time of the year came at the Big Ten Preview clocking in at 25:01.8 finishing 6th.
2012: Ran his first collegiate race in the Crusader Open; finished in 7th place and helped the team to a first place victory; Competed in six races during the course of the season; His best time was at the Adidas Invite with a 24:39; He finished in the top 10 at the Sean Earl Loyola Invite; Competed in the Indiana Intercollegiates finishing 28th and with the team finishing fourth; at the Big Ten Champs he finished 54th with a time of 24:59.9; lastly he competed in the Great Lakes Regional 10k, finishing 60th with a time of 32.29
High School: Competed in cross country, track and lacrosse for four years and soccer for three; first team all-SIAC in cross country all four years; cross country team MVP all four years; all-region in cross country for final three prep seasons; won the Kiwanis Leadership Award as a junior; was regional cross country champion as a junior and senior; set the region record in cross country as a senior; was SIAC Champion in the 3200m for track as a junior; also section champion in that event; semi-state champion in cross country as a senior; was all-state in the 3200m run after finishing fifth as a senior; was part of the 2011 cross country IHSAA Section and Regional Championship team; went to same high school as current Boilermaker Alisha Kuhlenhoelter; holds the school record in the 1600m run with a time of 4:19.35; was a Lilly Endowment Community Scholar.
Personal: Caleb Joshua Kerr was born Dec. 26, 1993 to parents Colin and Brenda Kerr; has two younger brothers, Jacob and Joel; plans to major in mechanical engineering; enjoys playing ping-pong and lacrosse in his spare time.
