WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue track and field and cross country teams are proud to announce that they will host their annual summer camps from July 15-18. The Boilermakers will offer a cross country/distance camp as well as a track and field camp for grades 9-12, all skill levels welcome.

The two Purdue camps will be run by the Boilermakers' coaching staff. Jake Stewart and Sarah Haveman will be on hand to work with the distance groups while Keith McBride will work with the throwers. Myron McClure will work with jumpers, hurdlers and sprinters. This coaching staff has led a number of individuals to conference and national success. This past season, the distance coaches led multiple individuals to top five results in Purdue program history in events ranging from the 3k, 5k, 10k, and the steeplechase.

The Purdue throws group has one of the strongest traditions in the country. This past season, Coach McBride led his student-athletes to two individual Big Ten Championships and another runner-up finish. He coached the school's first Big Ten Field Athlete of the Big Ten Championships for the indoor season and qualifiers for three NCAA Championships events. The Purdue jumpers, sprinters, and pole vaulters also have a rich tradition. This season, Purdue jumpers shattered the indoor long jump record, tied the outdoor record distance, and won two Big Ten Championships.

These coaches will be on hand to work with campers on their select events. Instruction will include warm-up exercises, drills, technical sessions, one-on-one analysis, video analysis, and more. The goal of the coaching staff is to help pinpoint specific areas for improvement so that campers can make the most of their experience and develop as track and field or cross country athletes.

The camp will be offered as a commuter or overnight camp. Commuters will be on site from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. ET. Lunch and dinner will be provided for both types of the camp while room and breakfast will also be included for the resident camp.

The Purdue track and field and cross country/distance camps are designed for a fun and educational experience. For more information including a registration form, click on the PDF at the top of the page.
