WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue track and field teams are set for the NCAA East Preliminaries this weekend in Jacksonville, Fla. The Boilermakers qualified in 28 events, up from 19 a year ago.

The three-day regional meet begins Thursday for the NCAA Championship hopefuls. The first event is slated for noon ET with the women’s hammer throw. A full schedule of events for each day can be found above, as well as start lists.

To qualify through regionals to the NCAA Championships, individuals must finish in the top 12 in their event in the finals. Long jump and triple jump, as well as the throwing events are broken into four flights where all competitors get three attempts. After the three attempts, the group is cut to 16 for three final attempts before the final 12 advance. The pole vault, as well as high jump, competition will be stopped once only 12 competitors remain and those remaining will qualify. Relay teams must finish in the top eight to qualify.
