WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue track and field teams will send about half of their members to the Penn Relays for three days of competition this weekend. Boilermakers will compete in eight events Thursday, nine on Friday, and three on Saturday.

Morgan Monroe will be the first Boilermaker to compete at the relays. She is scheduled to compete in the 400m hurdles at 10 a.m. on Thursday. She won the event a week ago at the Dave Rankin Invite. Dani Bunch is scheduled to compete at the same time in the hammer throw championships. Bunch won the event last weekend by two and a half feet. Emily Leckenby will be in the college hammer throw at 11:30.

Leah Eber will compete in the long jump championships for the first time since tying the school record distance. She will be up against some of the nation’s best including Whitney Gipson and Lorraine Ugen of TCU. The two were some of the nation’s best finishers in the indoor season including a National Championship. Both are among the top jumpers outdoors as well.

Bunch and Terri Anderson will compete in the shot put championship as well. Those begin at 1 p.m. ET.  Geoff Davis will travel with the men’s group and compete in the high jump championship on Saturday. Shawn Nickleson and Brandon Winters are among other men to make the trip.
