WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue track and field team heads to one of its biggest meets of the season this weekend. The Boilermakers travel to Des Moines, Iowa, for the Drake relays in which they will compete from Thursday through Saturday.

Who's Competing for Purdue
-Purdue will have 38 individuals, 22 men and 16 women, competing at the Drake Relays.
-The men are headlined by Cale Allen (5k), Coy Blair (SP), Geoff Davis (HJ), Chukwuebuka Enekwechi (HT, SP), Jakob Engel (SP), and Brandon Winters (110m HH).
-The women's group is highlighted by Cierra Brown (TJ), Dani Bunch (SP), Kelly McCurdy (5k), Vanessa McLeod (800m), Nikki Nunn (LJ), and Ciana Tabb (100m HH).

What Time and Where?
The Drake Relays begin for Purdue on Thursday at Drake Stadium. Running events begin full swing on Friday at 8 a.m. CT.


 

 

Who Else is Going?
The meet is scheduled to have nearly 8,000 athletes and an expected crowd near 40,000. Of those athletes, 1,053 are in the men's collegiate division and 966 are from the women's university section. It is the 104th edition of the meet and it will consist of 111 events. There will be 13 London Olympic Games rematches. Seven of those rematches will be held on Friday evening. A total of 19 medalists from the 2012 Games will be competing. A full list of the competing Olympians can be found in the official Drake Relays preview here.

Purdue's Last Time Out
The Boilermakers won 28 events in their only outdoor home meet of the season, the Dave Rankin Invite. Purdue also welcomed back more than 30 track and field alums for the weekend festivities which included a meal with the team.
