This is the 13th edition of Purdue Track Tidbits. The weekly update features upcoming news and events, national standings, top performers, school records, and other happenings within the program. These ‘tidbits’ are released each Tuesday of the season.
Another Record Falls
-Vanessa McLeod broke the school record in the 800m run over the weekend. She ran a time of 2:06.36 which broke Brooke Woodruff’s previous program-record time of 2:06.69. McLeod, a freshman, now owns the indoor and outdoor school records in the event.
-The women’s 4x800m relay team of Bre’Anna Smith, McLeod, Megan Plenus, and Kelly McCurdy posted a time of 8:48.45. That time was inaccurately reported to have broken the school record of 8:54.80. The actual school record is 8:37.96 by Cindy Cassell, Jymette Bonnivier, Jeannie Molohon, and Becky Cotta from 1984. The 8:54.80 time is the Purdue facility record which is held by Molohon, Cotta, Nancy Sanford, and Bonnivier from 1983. Purdue athletics communications apologizes for the error.
