STANFORD, Calif. - One Boilermaker student-athlete was in action over the weekend despite the cancellation of the Mike Poehlein Invitational. Cale Allen competed for the first time this year and competed at the Stanford Invitational.
Allen ran the fifth-fasted 10,000-meter race in Purdue history on Saturday. The fifth-year senior finished with the 26th-fastest time in the country after crossing the finish line in 29:33.68. That is a personal record for Allen. His time was good for 26th in the race. A total of 26 of the top 27 times in the country this season were run at the Stanford Invite.
The Boilermakers are not scheduled to be back in action until April 11-13 at the Sea Ray Relays in Knoxville, Tenn.
