WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Meyo Invitational is next up for the men's and women's track and field teams at Purdue. The Boilermakers will join 47 other schools making the trip to South Bend, Ind., to take part in the two day meet.
Friday's action is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. ET with the women's long jump. Leah Eber and Nikki Nunn will compete for the Boilermakers. Eber has won the event in each of the three meets she has competed in this season. The weight throw is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. for the women. Breann Fife, Dani Bunch, and Emily Leckenby are all scheduled to compete. Fife has set a PR in the event each time she has competed this season while Bunch threw a season-best 20.11m last week.
On the men's side, the 60m high hurdles are scheduled to begin at 5:25 p.m. with seven heats. Brandon Winters, Mike Willey, and Shane Mikesky will compete for Purdue. Mikesky and Winters advanced to the semifinals last weekend with Winters finishing second in the finals. Following the hurdles, the 60m dash trials will begin at 6:10 p.m. Gary Bush is scheduled to compete in the third heat, Raheem Mostert in the fifth and Mario Cosey in the seventh. Mostert finished sixth last week in the finals at the Indiana Relays.
A total of 18 events, men's and women's combined, are scheduled to take place on Friday with the men's 500m run wrapping up the action at 9:15 p.m. On Saturday, 34 events are scheduled. The second day's action will start at 10 a.m. with the women's 3000m run and will end with the men's 4x400m relay at 5:05 p.m.
