WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue sophomore Jonathan Pullum earned his second straight Big Ten Men's Field Athlete of the Week honor on Tuesday after winning the 35-pound weight throw at the Big Ten/SEC Challenge, hosted by Indiana University on Saturday.

Pullum threw the weight 20.66 meters (67-09.25), marking his second consecutive NCAA provisional qualifying mark after a career-best mark of 20.87 meters (68-05.75) at the season-opening Purdue Invitational. His season-best mark is the third highest in all of NCAA Division I this season and the fourth longest throw in Boilermaker history.

"Jon had another solid outing this weekend," said Purdue head coach Jack Warner. "He had a series of big throws against some tough competition. His early-season shows that he should have some really big throws still in him and we look for him to stay among the top of the Big Ten and NCAA standings."

Pullum is 0.63 meters shy of NCAA automatic qualification and 1.17 meters short of the Boilermakers' weight throw record. He continues his pursuit of both marks this Saturday as Purdue hosts Indiana State University and Southeast Missouri State University at the 13th annual Gene Edmonds Cup.
