EUGENE, Ore. –
Eric Blackman wrapped up the 2017 track & field season for the men’s team Friday at the NCAA Championships. The junior tied for ninth in the high jump after clearing 2.13 meters (6-11.75).

Blackman opened at 2.08m (6-9.75) and cleared on his first attempt. He was one of nine to clear the first height cleanly. The bar then moved to 2.13m (6-11.75). Blackman missed twice, but, like at regionals, came up clutch on his third try. He was one of 12 over the bar at that height, but tied for ninth, where he would finish.

Blackman cleared the same height as the finishers who took fourth through 12th. He is in line to earn second team All-America honors.
