EUGENE, Ore. – Justin Veteto opened the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships for the Boilermakers on Wednesday. The junior finished 21st in the 110-meter hurdles in his first appearance at the national championships.
Veteto was in the second heat and came out of lane 1. He ran a windy time of 14.10 seconds to take seventh in his heat. He is in line to earn Honorable Mention honors.
The women open the championships Thursday. The 14th-ranked Boilermakers have eighth entries, including six on the opening day of the women’s meet. Savannah Carson will be the first Boilermaker with an opportunity to score. The junior competes in the long jump finals at 9 p.m. ET. The event can be seen on ESPN3 online.
