PHILADELPHIA - The Purdue track and field teams wrapped up the first day at the Penn Relays on Thursday. Leah Eber was the top finisher for the Boilermakers as she finished third in the women’s long jump.

Eber leapt a mark of 6.14m (20-01.75). Whitney Gipson of TCU was the top finisher with a distance of 6.40 (21-00.00). Morgan Monroe took 23rd in the 400m hurdles. She ran a time of 1:01.75. The women’s 4x400m relay team finished 32nd with a mark of 3:45.92. Ebony Woodard, Kari Shoolbraid, Monroe, and Taylor Morrison ran the event for the Boilermakers.

Dani Bunch finished 10th in the hammer throw championships. The sophomore threw 54.46m (178-08) which was four inches shy of ninth place. Emily Leckenby competed in the college hammer throw and finished 14th with a mark of 51.40 (168-07). Bunch and Terri Anderson also competed in the shot put championships. Bunch finished sixth with a throw of 15.03m (49-03.75) while Anderson took eighth with a distance of 14.41m (47-03.50). Anderson also competed in the discus where she finished 10th with a throw of 43.76m (143-06).

The Boilermakers are scheduled to compete in nine more events at the Penn Relays on Friday as well as host the first day of the Purdue Open.
