  • PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Purdue men's and women's track and field teams concluded one of the finest performances in school history at the 2008 Penn Relays, hosted by the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

    Senior Leah Kincaid closed out her outstanding weekend in Philadelphia with an eighth-place showing in the Women's 100-meter Hurdles Championship of America. She followed up yesterday's season-best time with a 13.65-second effort on Saturday.

    Junior Ben Harpenau placed sixth in the Men's Hammer Throw Championship of America, marking 61.83 meters (202-10), while senior Jim Schwingendorf placed ninth in the collegiate men's javelin throw with a toss of 56.09 meters (184-00).

    Over the weekend the Boilermakers collected five medals, including a pair of golds in Championship of America events. With just two weekends left before the Big Ten Outdoor Championships, the squad is scheduled to head to Columbus, Ohio on Friday for the Jesse Owens Classic.
