TEMPE, Ariz. - The Purdue track and field teams wrapped up the Sun Angel Classic late on Saturday night as the meet lasted until about 1 a.m. ET.
On the men's side, Brandon Winters finished sixth in the 110m hurdles. He finished with a time of 14.41 seconds. Andrew Kendrick and Rob McNair took sixth and seventh, respectively, in the 400m dash. Kendrick ran a 48.78 while McNair finished in 49.17. Geoff Davis tied for fourth in the high jump. The junior cleared 2.05m (6-08.75) on his first attempt, but was unable to clear his next height, 2.10m (6-10.75).
For the women, Taylor Morrison took third in the 400m dash with a time of 55.11. Ebony Woodard also fared well in the race as she took seventh after crossing the finish line in 56.17 seconds. Stephanie Bonk finished third in the 3000m steeplechase. Bonk ran a 10:46.67 which was three seconds off the top time. Leah Eber finished second in her outdoor season debut of the long jump. Eber leapt 6.16m (20-02.50) which was just two inches short of the top mark. Nikki Nunn finished seventh in the event. The sophomore jumped 5.65m (18-06.50).
Terri Anderson finished third in the shot put. The senior threw 15.02m (49-03.50). Liberty Slinden was seventh in the event with a mark of 14.02m (46-00.00). Dani Bunch finished fifth in the shot put premier flight. She threw 16.21m (53-02.25).
The Boilermakers will return to action next weekend at the Jesse Owens Track Classic in Columbus, Ohio. The two day meet with begin on Friday and wrap up on Saturday.
