LOS ANGELES - The Boilermakers wrapped up the USC Trojan Invite on Saturday afternoon. The men and women combined to win seven events on the final day of the spring break meet.

Raheem Mostert was busy on Saturday in a day that he competed in three events. The junior won the 100m dash with the second-fastest time in Purdue history, a time of 10.25 seconds. The time won't officially count in the record books because it was aided by a wind factor of 2.9, but it was very impressive, as he won the race by a 0.36 of a second. Mostert also competed in the 4x100m relay, with Tyler Askew, Andrew Kendrick and Eric Harris, and finished second with a time of 40.39 seconds. In the 4x400m relay, he ran with Obokhare Ikpefan, Kendrick and Kendal Frederick to take fourth with a time of 3:15.42.

Kari Shoolbraid won the women's 800m and the Boilermakers took first and third in the event. Shoolbraid ran a time of 2:07.99, three quarters of a second off her PR, while BreAnna Smith took third with a time of 2:11.57. In the men's 800m, Kevin Griffith took the top spot with a time of 1:51.37. That time was 0.18 of a second in front of the second place finisher.

Andre' Peart cruised to a win in the men's 400m hurdles. The school record holder was well off his PR, but ran a winning time of 52.90 seconds. He won the race by nearly half a second. Ikpefan was fourth in the event with a time of 53.86 seconds.

In the throws, the Purdue men and women won the shot put. Dani Bunch was the women's winner with a mark of 16.31m (53-06.25). Chukwuebuka Enekwechi won the men's event with a distance of 18.31m (60-1.00). His teammate Coy Blair was second with a mark of 18.06m (59-03.00). Caleb Fricke also won for the throwers. He was the top finisher in the discus with a mark of 52.28m (171-6).

The Boilermakers finished second on both sides, with the men coming in with 150 points, just 4.5 behind BYU. The women's team had 98.75 points, nearly 80 points behind USC.

Purdue is scheduled to open up its home schedule next weekend with the Mike Poehlein Invite. The event is scheduled for Friday and Saturday at Rankin Track and Field.
