COLLEGE STATION, Tex. - Purdue freshman Dani Bunch finished 16th in the women's weight throw at the 2011 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday, hosted by Texas A&M University at Gilliam Indoor Track Stadium. Bunch had a top throw of 17.75 meters (58-03.00) on the day, not reaching the finals.

Bunch threw in the second of two flights on Friday evening, opening with a toss of 16.27 meters (53-04.75), but improved to her top throw of the day on her second effort. Indiana State's Felisha Johnson captured the national championship in the event, throwing a facility record of 22.69 meters (74-05.50). She and Sycamore teammate Kelsey Hanley both scored as Hanley finished seventh and Indiana State leads the team standings after two events with 12 points.
