Scored at both the Big Ten Indoor and Outdoor Championships as a rookie; posted a top indoor time of 21.65 in the 200-meter dash at the indoor conference meet to reach the finals and earn eighth; notched his top-two career times in the 200 at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships, qualifying with a time of 21.42 and placing eighth at 21.45; also helped the 4x100-meter relay team to a fifth-place showing and time of 41.22
Four-year track and field standout at Miamisburg High School, helping team to a third-place finish at the 2008 Ohio high school state championships; placed in three events as a senior at the state championships, winning the 300-meter hurdles, and taking second in the 110-meter hurdles and 200-meter dash; won the 300-meter hurdles as a junior and took fourth in the 110-meter hurdles.
