Track and Field to Host Officials Callout

The callout will be in the King Conference Room on the event level of Mackey Arena.

Wilson-Long is in her secondseason as the supervisor of men's and women's track and field and cross country operations after spending over 11 years as a higher education administrator for Purdue.

In her current role, Wilson-Long is responsible for coordinating team travel, community outreach, alumni relations, budget management, organizing the summer camp and overseeing the team's student managers.

Prior to her employment at Purdue, Wilson-Long, who walked on to the track team, completed a decorated athletic career at Purdue in 1999. As a senior, she won the 1999 NCAA Indoor Championship in the 20-pound weight throw. Wilson-Long was a two-time All-American, five-time Big Ten champion and two-time team MVP. In addition, she was a Big Ten runner-up in the discus as a freshman and junior. She also was selected as the 1999 Red Mackey Grant winner, an award that recognizes athletes who exemplify the overall success of Purdue intercollegiate athletics.

After graduating from Purdue with a Bachelors of Arts in psychology and sociology and an Associates of Science in Organizational Leadership and Supervision in 1999, Wilson-Long competed for the Indiana Invaders where she placed third at the 2002 USA Indoor Track and Field Championships in the weight throw. She also joined the Purdue track and field team as a volunteer assistant coach from 2001-04. In 2006, Wilson-Long was inducted into theIATCCC Hall of Fame and in April 2012 the Purdue Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Fame.

Wilson-Long is an active member of the National Association of College Women Athletics Administrators (NACWAA), serves on the Board of Directors for the Purdue Black Alumni Organization and is the fiscal planner for the Purdue Black Caucus of Faculty & Staff.
