Serene Ross

Position: Volunteer Assistant Coach

Serene Ross is in her second year as a volunteer assistant coach. She joined the Boilermaker track and field coaching staff after posting stellar career in several throws events.

The four-time All-American from Edinburg, Penn., capped off her collegiate career with an NCAA Championship in the javelin in June. She set an American record with a throw of 195-8.00. Her performance earned the Boilermakers enough points to finish 24th in the nation.

Ross also was Big Ten champion in the javelin, and she placed third in the hammer throw at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships.

Her javelin performance qualified her for World Cup competition in Madrid in September. She finished fifth in the world in the event.
