2012:In the 600-meter run, took first at the Purdue Invitational (1/7) and second at the Boilermaker Invite (2/18). Competed on the distance medley relay team at the Big Ten Indoor Championships (2/25) and Hoosier Indoors (1/27). Placed third at the Purdue Dave Rankin Invitational (4/20-4/21) as part of the 4x400-meter relay team. Took 4th at the Mike Poehlin Invitational (3/30-3/31) with a time of 1:55.97 in the 800-meter run. Competed for tenth at the SEC/Big Ten Challenge.
Competed in five indoor and three outdoor meets; ran both the 600 and 800-meter; best 600-meter time was 1:22.31 at the GVSU Big Meet (2/12); best 800-meter time was recorded at the Gene Edmonds Cup (1/23) with a time of 1:55.19.
Four-year varsity letterwinner in both cross country and track and field at Northridge High School; led cross country team to four straight conference and regional championships, and three sectional and semi-state championships; cross country team placed in the top-10 all four years at state, with a high placing of fourth his junior season; clocked a career-best time of 1:55.05 in the 800-meter run, and set the 1,600-meter freshman school record with a time of 4:39.00; three-year Indiana high school state track and field placewinner in the 4x800-meter relay, earning a top place of second as a senior; competed alongside current Boilermaker Ladd Mercer for three seasons.
Mitchel Jay Keyser was born Sept. 18, 1990, in Elkhart, Ind.; is the son of Randy and Pam Keyser; has three brothers, David John and Joe, and three sisters, Katie, Andrea and Rachel; enjoys golfing; intends to major in accounting.
