Track and Field Breaks Three More School Records Saturday

The Boilermakers broke seven school records over the weekend.

3,000-meter steeplechase 11:01.64

2009 (JUNIOR)
Competed in nine varsity events (four indoor, five outdoor); ran the mile run in all four indoor efforts, turning in a career-best time of 5:10.12 at the Notre Dame Meyo Invitational; turned in three consecutive personal records in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, hitting her top mark of 11:01.64 at the Jesse Owens Track Classic at Ohio State; ran 11:13.66 at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships; also posted a career-best in the 1,500-meter run, clocking a time of 4:37.21 at the Stan Lyons Invitational.

Ran in six varsity events (four indoor, two outdoor); posted a career-best time of 10:45.43 in the 3,000-meter run at the Gene Edmonds Cup; ran a top steeplechase time of 11:54.11 at the Dave Rankin Invitational.

Clocked a season-best time of 4:52.66 in the 1,500-meter run at the 2007 Auburn Tiger Invitational; an a season-best mile run at the 2007 Iowa State Classic, crossing the line in 5:10.64.

Earned four letters in cross country at Carl Sandburg High School; was an all-conference honoree all four years; eanred all-region honors as a sophomore and senior, and all-section accolades as a sophomore; helped team place among state's top 10 at state championships as a freshman (3rd place), junior (6th) and senior (5th).

Sarah Laurie Klaczynski was born on Jan. 29, 1988, in Berwyn, Ill.; is the daughter of William and Laurie Klaczynski; has one brother, Jason; enjoys dancing; majoring in elementary education.
