T&F Wins 20 Events at Fred Wilt Open

The Boilermakers wrapped up the home slate Saturday at Lambert Fieldhouse

  • Competed in five indoor and three outdoor meets
  • Had a PR in the weight throw of 15.71m (51-6.50) at the Fred Wilt Invite, where she finished fourth
  • Threw a personal best mark of 49.31m (161-9) in the hammer throw at the Rankin/Poehlein Invite to finish eighth
  • Had a season-best discus mark of 43.94m (144-2) at the Rankin/Poehlein Invite to finish seventh

2015 (REDSHIRT FRESHMAN): Competed in the weight throw, hammer throw and discus ... had a weight throw PR of 14.27m (46-10.00) at the Fred Wilt Invite ... finished third in the discus at the Shamrock Invite with a PR throw of 44.72m (146-9) ... had a hammer PR of 44.30m (145-4) at the Shamrock Invite ... competed in eight total events during the indoor and outdoor seasons.

2014 (FRESHMAN):
Did not compete in any indoor/outdoor meets in the 2013-14 track seasons for the Boilermakers.

High School: Four-time varsity letterwinner in track and field and three in basketball; four-time team conference and sectional champions and three-time regional champions; 2013 all-conference in the discus; set school record in 2013 for discus with a mark of 137'11"; three-year scholar athlete; Academic All-State Honorable Mention.

Personal: Jessica Catherine DelBovo was born on Oct. 21, 1994, in Chicago Heights, Illinois, to parents Bruce and Cathy DelBovo; has two siblings, an older brother, Bruce, and a younger sister, Jennifer; majoring in veterinary technology.
