This is the first time since 1989 that track athletes swept the awards.
Purdue won medals in the first two completed events of the championships.
2012: Runner-up at the indoor Big Ten Championships in the high jump. Tied for 15th at the NCAA Championships after clearing 2.10m (6-10.75) in the high jump. Tied for third at the outdoor Big Ten Championships in the same event. Placed first at the Meyo Invitational (2/4) and the Boilermaker Invite (2/18), in the high jump. Jumped 7-01.00 on both occasions. Placed second at the Alex Wilson Inviational (3/3) by jumping season best 7-03.75. Also finished second at the Big Ten Indoor Championships (2/25) and the Hoosier Indoors Invite (1/28). During the outdoor season, captured first place at the Mike Poehlein Invitational (3/30-3/31), the Purdue Dave Rankin Invitational (4/20-4/21) and the Jesse Owens Track Classic (4/13-4/14).
Competed in nine indoor and seven outdoor varsity meets; best outdoor mark was 2.22m/7-03.25 at the Dave Rankin Invitational (4/17); best indoor mark was 2.20m/7-02.50 at the GVSU Big Meet (2/12); placed fourth at the Big Ten Indoor Championships (2/28); tied for second place in high jump at Big Ten Outdoor Championships (5/16); named to 2010 All-Big Ten Men's Outdoor Track & Field Second Team; competed at high jump in both indoor (3/13) and outdoor (6/11) NCAA Championships.
Three-year varsity letterwinner at Lawrence Central High School; two-time placewinner in the high jump at the Indiana State High School Championships, taking third as a junior and fifth as a sophomore; two-time conference champion in the high jump and sectional champion in 2008; four-year participant on the Lawrence Central basketball team.
Geoffery Michael Davis was born Aug. 8, 1990, in Indianapolis, Ind.; is the son of Charles and Yolanda Davis; has two brothers, Charles Jr. and Robert; enjoys basketball and football; intends to major in organizational leadership and supervision.
