Career Accomplishments: Seven medals at Big Ten Indoor Championships (three golds, four silvers). Seven-time Big Ten Indoor Field Athlete of the Week, which is the most ever by female field athlete and tied for most by any female. Eight-time All-American with three First Team All-America honors and five Second-Team All-America honors (Indoors: 2x First Team, 4x Second Team, Outdoors: 1x First Team, 1x Second Team). Five-time Big Ten Champion and nine-time Big Ten medal winner with five golds and four silvers. Six-time First Team All-Big Ten honoree out of seven possible. School record holder in the shot put (indoors and outdoors) and weight throw. Has been named Big Ten Field Athlete of the Year and Big Ten Field Athlete of the Championships for indoor seasons, as well as the Big Ten Freshman of the Year.
2014: Broke school records in the shot put and weight throw (indoors). Finished second in shot put and first in weight throw at Big Ten Championships to become first Big Ten woman to ever win three weight throw titles. Was named Big Ten Field Athlete of the Year, just the second woman at Purdue ever to do so. Earned First Team All-America in two events, the shot put and weight throw, after finishing third in the weight and fifth in the shot at NCAAs. Won all 13 events she competed in prior to Big Ten Championships. She won the Big Ten Field Athlete of the Week honor six times in the year, the most ever by a field athlete in the conference and tied for the most by any female athlete in one year. Four of the conference awards came in consecutive weeks, the most ever by a Big Ten field athlete, and tied for the most by any Big Ten female athlete. Her top marks for indoor season were third and fourth in the weight throw and shot put, respectively, in the nation heading into the NCAA Championships. Bunch was a First Team All-Big Ten honoree for her effort in the weight throw. She also was named the team's Sportsmanship Honoree. Bunch scored all 10 of the women's points at the NCAA Championships to give the team a t-19 finish in the country. It's best team finish since 2000 when the women were 17th. Her 10 points are tied for the second most ever by a Purdue women's entire team at the NCAA Indoor Championships, just one point shy of the all-time program best.
2013: Won the silver medal at the Big Ten Indoor Championships in the shot put and weight throw ... won the Big Ten Championship in the outdoor shot put with a school-record throw of 17.13m (56-02.25) and was the first Purdue woman to break the 17m mark ... broke the shot put indoor school record with a toss of 16.70m (54-09.50) at the IU Relays where she finished second ... won the shot put at the SPIRE Invite with a throw of 16.60m (54-05.50) ... threw 16.55m (54-03.50) at the Big Ten Championships ... won the shot put at the Purdue/Indiana Dual and the Gene Edmonds Cup ... has second-best weight throw mark in program history as she tossed 21.61m (70-10.75) at the Big Ten Championships where she finished second ... mark is one centimeter shy of program record ... won the weight throw at the Gene Edmonds Cup, SPIRE Invite and Purdue/Indiana Dual ... finished 13th at the NCAA Championships ... also had four second-place finishes on the season ... finished eighth in the country in the outdoor shot put with a mark of 16.83m (55-02.75) and scored a point for the Purdue women at the NCAA Championships ... finished sixth at the NCAA East Regional in the shot put ... won the event at the Dave Rankin Invite ... finished fourth at the Big Ten Championships in the hammer throw with a personal record mark of 57.97m (190-02) ... won the event at the Dave Rankin Invite ... qualified for the NCAA East Regionals where she finished 32nd ... also competed in the discus two times, including a first-place finish at the Dave Rankin Invite with a mark of 48.86m (160-04).Broke the then-school record in the shot put for the indoor season. Finished fourth at the Big Ten Outdoor championships in the hammer throw. First Team All-America in the outdoor shot put after finishing eighth at the NCAA Championships. Second Team All-American in the indoor weight throw after taking 13th. Bunch's one point at the NCAA Outdoor Championships was the only point scored by the women at the meet, and led the team to a 61st place finish. Second Team All-Big Ten during indoor season. 2012: Big Ten Champion in the weight throw (indoors) and shot put (outdoors). Was a repeat Big Ten Champion in the weight throw. Named Big Ten Field Athlete of the Championships for the indoor season. Set the school-record in the indoor shot put by throwing 16.65m (54-07.50) at the Wisconsin Last Chance Meet (3/2). Placed first at the Purdue Invitational (1/7) in the shot-put throwing 15.79 meters and in the 20-pound weight throw throwing 19.06 meters. Took second in shot-put at the Wisconsin Last Chance Meet (3/2), the Big Teen Indoor Championships (2/25) the Boilermaker Invite (2/18) and the Meyo Invitational (2/4). Captured first in the 20 pound weight throw at both the Big Ten Indoor Championships and the Boilermaker Invite. Placed first at the Purdue Dave Rankin Invitational (4/20-4/21) in the shot put and the hammer thrown. Took first in the hammer throw at the Mike Poehlein Invitational (3/30-3/31) and second in the shot-put. Also placed fifth in the discus.Set the then-school record in the indoor shot put. First Team All-Big Ten both indoors and outdoors.
2011:Big Ten Champion in the weight throw. Big Ten Freshman of the Year for indoor season. First Team All-Big Ten for indoor season. Picked up her first career Big Ten Field Athlete of the Week during the indoor season. Placed fifth at the Big Ten Championships in the outdoor shot put. Took fourth in the shot put at the Big Ten indoor meet. Second Team All-America in the weight throw.
Did not compete her first season at Purdue.
Four-year varsity letterwinner at Mahomet-Seymour High School; five-time Illinois State High School Shot Put Champion, winning the state title three times indoors and twice outdoors and set the state record for both; threw the shot put 15.56 meters (51-00.75) and the discus 43.43 meters (142-06); placed fourth in the shot put outdoors as a sophomore and placed ninth and second in the discus as a junior and senior; holds the school records in both the shot put and discus; two-time Gatorade Illinois Girls' High School Athlete of the Year and USA Today All-USA Girls' High School Track Team honoree; five-time all-conference award winner; won three varsity letters in volleyball and basketball, earning all-conference honors in both.
