Provisionally qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships with a mark of 2.14 meters (7-00.25) at the Meyo Invitational (2/7); placed fourth in the high jump at the Big Ten Indoor Championships (3/1); cleared 2.15 meters (7-00.50) at the Mike Poehlein Invitational (4/4) and at the Dave Rankin Invitational (4/18), earning a trip to the NCAA Mideast Regionals; scored in the high jump and long jump at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships (5/16), taking third in the high jump at 2.16 meters (7-01.00) and fourth in the long jump at 7.11 meters (23-04.00); secured at-large qualification to the national outdoor meet with his season-best mark; earned All-America honors with a fifth-place showing in the high jump at the NCAA Outdoor Championships (6/12); won the Nigeria Mobil Trials (7/25) in the high jump with a mark of 2.15 meters (7-00.50).
