Purdue Spirit Squad Appearance Requests

The Purdue University Spirit Squad is comprised of the cheerleaders and Purdue Pete. The squad makes more than 100 public appearances annually. It is impossible for the squad to appear at all events at which they are requested.

General Guidelines

In order to help our students maintain their academic performance, events during dead week and final exam periods cannot be attended.

Process for placing an appearance request

  1. Requests need to be submitted at least six weeks prior to the event.
  2. Complete all the information requested on the form below and fax it to Deb Wilcox at the number listed on the form.
  3. Deb will review the request for adherence to the general guidelines.
  4. If the request does not fall within the general guidelines, Deb will notify the requester that their request will not be scheduled.
  5. If the request falls within the general guidelines, Deb will notify the requester that their request is being considered and she will then forward the request to Steve Solberg, spirit squad coordinator, for evaluation. Factors outside the general guidelines that are considered include upcoming intercollegiate athletic events, academic workload of the spirit squad members, and job related commitments by members.
  6. All pending requests will be given an answer as to whether the spirit squad will be able to appear at their event at least one month prior to the event.
  7. If the spirit squad is able to make the appearance, Steve will contact the requester and arrange all details for the appearance.
