SPIRIT SQUAD APPEARANCE REQUESTS
The Purdue Spirit Squad is comprised of the cheerleaders and Purdue Pete. The squad makes more than 100 public appearances annually.
In order to help our students maintain their academic performance, events during dead week and final exam periods cannot be attended.
PROCESS FOR REQUESTING AN APPEARANCE
Requests need to be submitted at least six weeks prior to the event.
Kim will review the request for adherence to the general guidelines.
If the request does not fall within the general guidelines, Kim will notify the requester that their request will not be scheduled.
If the request falls within the general guidelines, Kim will notify the requester that their request is being considered and she will then forward the request to Steve Solberg, Spirit Coordinator/Head Cheer Coach, for evaluation. Factors outside the general guidelines that are considered include upcoming athletic events, academic workload of the spirit squad members and job related commitments by members (especially during Christmas and summer vacation).
All pending requests will be given an answer as to whether the spirit squad will be able to appear at their event at least two weeks prior to the event.
If the spirit squad is able to make the appearance, Steve and/or Kim will contact the requester and arrange all of the details for the appearance.
Please be advised it is impossible for the squad to appear at all events at which they are requested.
