Oct. 26, 2011
I'm excited to announce that we have our 2012 college prep clinics set! They will take place on Saturday, February 18 and Sunday, April 15, 2012. Both are scheduled to take place at the Intercollegiate Athletic Facility (IAF) which is right next to Mackey Arena and is where we host our home volleyball matches.
It is scheduled just like our previous two prep clinics. We will have a co-ed clinic from 10:00-1:00 and an all-girl clinic from 2:00-5:00. On-site registration and check-in will take place one hour before each clinic.
Cost for the clinic is $50. To attend both is $80 (a savings of $20!)
These clinics are open to all high school freshmen through seniors and any full-time college students. The purpose of these clinics is to give cheerleaders a taste of what a college tryout could be like. At these clinics, everybody will learn:
· Motions to college fight song
· Motions to a collegiate band cadence
· Standing and series tumbling technique
· Co-ed only stunting at the co-ed clinic
· All-girl stunting (flying, basing, backing) at the all-girl clinic
· In stunting, we will catering to your skill level. If you are ready to try collegiate level stunts, we will teach it to you!
Please be aware that proof of a physical is required by the Purdue athletics department for participation in our clinics and tryouts. A doctor's signature on the registration form or a copy of a school medical form is all we need.
Again, for all females who would like to tryout for the Purdue cheerleading program for the 2012-2013 season, it is MANDATORY that you attend one of these clinics and receive a tryout bid from Coach Solberg. To get a tryout bid for the co-ed team, you must attend the co-ed clinic. To get a tryout bid for the all-girl team, you can attend either the co-ed or all-girl clinic, though it is highly suggest you attend both if possible. If you are unable to make both of these clinic dates, but would still like to tryout for the program, please contact Coach Solberg immediately at email@example.com.
