WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue cheerleaders competed at the NCA College summer cheer camp in Louisville, Ky., Aug. 1-3 and came home with several top honors.

The Boilermakers earned a gold level bid for nationals and were named Most Collegiate Division IA school and best all-around team at camp. The squad also took first place in the rally routine competition, while Mark Elliot and Aly Clayton were the winners of the Top Gun stunt competition.

"I am very pleased with the performance of our team as a whole, but more importantly of all of our freshmen and how they stepped it up over the last two days in preparation for our evaluations," spirit coordinator Arthur Smith said. "I couldn't be happier with the most collegiate team award, which was voted on by the rest of the camp. It really shows that Purdue was well represented, and all of Boiler Nation should be proud."
