Personal: Nicole (Latham) Smith returns for her third year as an assistant coach for the Purdue all-girl program. For the 2011-2012 season, Nicole volunteered her time to come help develop stunts and pyramids with the all-girl team.

Nicole attended Hawaii Pacific University from 2003-2006 where she received a full scholarship for cheerleading. She was a member of the small co-ed team and won five national championships at both NCA and UCA College Nationals. She was a member of the all-girl stunt group that won back-to- back NCA titles and the UCA title in 2006. After leaving HPU, Nicole attended the University of Indianapolis where she graduated in 2008 with her bachelors degree in entrepreneurship.

Nicole began coaching at Fishers High School in 2006. Duing her time at FHS her teams won 2 state titles, one state runner-up, and third place at NCA High School Nationals. Her teams have also performed during half-time at an Indianapolis Colts game.

When Nicole is not coaching, she does choreography for high school, all-star, and college teams.

Nicole and her husband, Vernon, reside in Fishers where she is also the owner and coach of True Champion Athletics all-star cheerleading gym.
